In other circumstances, this text would be for you. But believe me, today you are not the center of attention. Actually, you've been gone for a long time! Today I will write again about pain, not the pain caused by the wrongly chosen love partner. Today, I'm going to write about thought-induced pain, empathy.
Social media is full of pictures, news, videos of the situation in Turkey and Syria. Catastrophic earthquakes left a mark forever in history.
Each picture—is a new, separate story.
Each video—is a new stab at the heart.
Each victim—a new dose of tears.
Еvery new shout—a saved life, second life.
But what kind of life is that?!
Thousands killed, thousands missing, thousands buried under the ruins of the damned earthquakes!
Parents hanging over their little ones to save them from the relentless earthquakes. They gave a second life to their little ones, they gave their lives, but they condemned them to sadness from an early age…
Some titles circulating on social media:
“A father who hugs the lifeless body of his newborn.”, “A boy who instead of preparing his girlfriend for a wedding, prepares her for a funeral”, “A mother who saved her newborn with her body.”, “A mother who died during childbirth in the ruins”…
Titles that tear up the soul.
Titles that burn like lemon juice on a cut.
Titles that prick a heart like a cactus.
Titles that leave marks like earthquakes themselves.
Titles you wish you never read.
Pictures you wish you never saw.
Videos of crying souls you wish you never heard.
Too much pain, too much suffering. Their cry echoes in the ears! And our hands are tied. I don't want to watch the news, but I want to know what's going on.
Hours multiply. Days are passing. Casualties are increasing—hope is diminishing. And the suffering… is just beginning for those innocent people.
And the tears don't stop, I empathize with each of those suffering souls. What did those little beings see to end up like that? Parents who outlived their children.
Life's too harsh.
And here we are, yes, I will also put myself in that group. People who don't always appreciate what they have. They don't appreciate and enjoy the people around them enough. Parents who brought them into the world, brothers and sisters, friends who are there for them, colleagues who helped them at university, at work, animals who are our best friends…
But why?! When will that change?! When will we start appreciating those who give their lives for us?! When will we learn that the animals are the ones who help us, the ones who dig through the rubble in such disasters?! When will you realize that your business exists because of your employees?!
What are you waiting for to call your parents and tell them that you love them more than anything in the world?! That you are grateful to them for bringing you, for raising you into the person you are today, and that you are immensely grateful to them?!
What are you waiting for to call the one who keeps you awake at night?! You have nothing more to lose, you can only gain.
What are you waiting for to apply for that job offer?
Wear the outfit you save for special occasions, every day is a special occasion. You don't know what tomorrow brings.
So, pick up the phone and call everyone you care about, make their evening better, it doesn't take much. Put a smile on someone's face, and you'll feel better. Be better today than you were yesterday. Appreciate life today, there is only one!
Disclaimer:
The stories are seasoned with a lot of drama, and the characters are fictional because the drama starts when logic ends. ☺
